This weekend saw the Cardiff GP take place at Maindy Stadium, Wales. A star studded line up from all across Europe
treated the crowds to some fantastic racing on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday Victoria Pendleton successfully defended her National
Champion title in the British Women's Derny paced Championships in what was a close race
with Revolution Future Stars winner Alex Greenfield finishing second, and
inform local Olympic Academy rider girl Katie Curtis taking the bronze medal despite chipping a bone in her hand during the week

In the Men's event, defending champion Bryan Taylor was unfortunately absent through illness, but
Tony Gibb put in a superb performance to lap the field on numerous occasions to win from teammate James McCallum and Junior rider Luke Rowe in third.
Rowe was paced by his father Courtney, who also took the Bronze medal with Katie Curtis in the women's event

The Plowman Craven duo also dominated the endurance events with Gibb taking the
Little Lanterns Oriental Bistro 20km Scratch race on Saturday after a perfect breakaway with McCallum
Gibb also took Saturday's 10km Points race in another one-two with the commonwealth games Bronze medallist, however James was able to reverse the result in Sundays GP of Wales Points Race and take an impressive victory in the Devil take the Hindemost
PCA dominated the endurance events
In the Classic Maindy Mile, Adam Ptacnik claimed victory, Ptacnik continues the traditional Czech Republic dominance of this event with previous winners including Pavel Buran.
On Saturday riders took part in the velodrome.org.uk International Keirin, the Men's event saw some fantastic racing in the heats,
with the European riders producing some strong performances. However they weren't strong enough in the final, when SiS pair Jason Kenny and Matt Crampton edging out Czech rider Denis Spika on the line in an extremely close finish

The women's equivalent saw triple World Champion Victoria Pendleton easily take the victory, but the real race was for second with Anna Blyth narrowly beating Lucy Ayres on the line to take the Silver medal
Pendleton also claimed victory in the Women's Omnium from World Masters Champion Janet Birkmyre and Keirin silver medallist Anna Blyth

With such an
illustrious line-up, the sprinting provided the crowd with some exciting racing. Event favourite Ross Edgar was knocked out of the competition in Round One by fast finishing Steve Hill (Brooks Cycles) and Dave Daniell.
However it was Kenny once again that proved to be in a different class when he took the final from Matt Crampton in the event sponsored by Gem Estate Managements
Sunday was a different story with Crampton taking revenge by winning the Face Partnership Sprint in fine style from Ross Edgar in the final, whereas Saturday's star Kenny had to settle for third, beating Christos Volikakis
