Top Riders Sign with Dolan

Terry Dolan is proud to announce sponsorship deals with a number of top riders that will be competing at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Beijing and up to 2012 Games in London

Riders include Silver Medallist in the Women's 500m TT and Sprint at the 2008 World Championship's Simona Krupeckaite

The 25yr old from Utena, Lithuania is widely tipped to be Victoria Pendleton's main rival for Sprint Gold in Beijing

Also now riding Dolan's are the Spanish Sprint squad, who despite missing out on Beijing, are tipped for a big future in the sport, combining the experience of Salvador Melia Mangrinan with the youth of Hodei Mazquiran Uria and Alvaro Rubio Alonso

The Spanish squad, coached by Salvador Cabeza de Vaca have been working with Dolan on the ARC for sometime and now they've been issued with DF3s

"The team had difficulties making Beijing, due to the squad being so young, but they look to have a big future in the sport, with strong youth riders like David Alonso Castillo coming through the ranks" said Dolan

David O’Loughin has qualified for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing in a scene similar to the Jamaican bobsleigh team done so, as a track cyclist considering Ireland does not have a track.

David finished 6th overall in the individual pursuit competition and 6th in the world rankings for the Individual Pursuit and with 18 places going in the Olympics, and a complicated qualifying process he was given the first reserve place, which was 19th.

Riding for Team Pezula, O’Loughin rides a Dolan Hercules SE on the road and a Dolan ARC on the track

The individual pursuit is a 4km race against the clock which is 16 laps of the velodrome. David’s times improved from a national record he set of 4 minutes 29 seconds in November he has now improved that record to 4 minutes and 20 seconds in the space of six months, which was only 2 seconds off the world champions time.

David hopes to be joined by his Pezula team mate Ciaran Power at this summers olympics. Ciaran excellent performances on the road this season has meant he is heading the chase for one of the two road places available for Ireland.

Also riding a Dolan is Roberto Chiappa, the 41 time Italian National Champion who was 4th at the 2008 Sprint World Championships

Way back in 1991 Chiappa was World Junior Sprint Champion, which he followed up in 1993 with World Championship Gold on a Tandem with Federico Paris

More recently Chiappa has been dominating the American Track Cycling scene on his DF3 with big wins at the International Keirin Cup at the Le High Valley Preferred Velodrome in Trexlertown, PA

Terry Dolan commented: "Chiappa has a good chance of medalling in Beijing, and his record breaking performances stateside so far this summer are already evidence of this."

Terry will also continue to support the Great British Track Cycling team, with riders Chris Hoy, Shanaze Reade and Jo Rowsell all current World Champions.

The British Cycling Olympic Development and Academy Programmes are also all kitted out with Dolan equipment, either DF3s or ARCs, with riders including Chris Lyte, Dave Daniell and Jess Varnish
