9th September 2010: With a strong entry list and ideal weather conditions Dudenhofen, Germany played host to the 17th Sprinter Meeting. German riders Stefan Nimke, Rene Enders and Carsten Bergemann took on the New Zealand team who are currently in Germany preparing for October’s Commonwealth Games. Promising young Kiwi Sam Webster took the victory in the Sprint after a fine win over Roy Van den Berg of the Netherlands, with Carsten Bergemann taking third. The male riders also contested the Keirin and it was no surprise to see New Zealand’s Simon Van Velthooven who is fresh from his summer of racing in the Japanese Keirin Series, take a well deserved victory ahead of Czech riders Tomas Babek and Adam Ptacnik. A selection of the Male riders took part in the 250m TT in order to attempt to break the track record for the 250m distance. Tomas Babek recorded the fastest time of 13.61s, 0.01s faster than Ethan Mitchell of New Zealand’s time of 13.62. Webster took overall victory from his team-mate Mitchell with Bergemann finishing in third place overall. ![]() Kristina Vogel continued her impressive Summer with Victory in the Women's Sprint In the Women’s event, Kristina Vogel and Miriam Welte delighted the home crowd as the German girls beat Dutch duo Willy Kanis and Yvonne Hijgenaar. The Dutch got revenge in the Keirin though as Kanis beat Vogel to take the victory with Hijgenaar securing third ahead of Welte. As usual for a German event, Dudenhofen also welcomed the Stayers who produced some exciting racing with German’s Marcel Möbus and Helmut Baur taking the victory ahead of the Swiss-German combination of Guiseppe Atzeni and Andre Dippel.
