Golden end to Euros

Anna Blyth

Anna Blyth made it a Women's Keirin double for Great Britain as she repeated Jess Varnish's success last night to claim victory in the U23 Women's Keirin

Blyth who was 4th in the World Keirin Final was the overwhelming favourite for the event, and justified this status with a superb performance

In the first round she easily beat Sandie Clair of France, who is no push-over after finishing 4th in the Women's Sprint at the Mallorca Worlds

Unfortunately Lucy Ayres couldn't progress to the final, however she performed well in the Minor Final to finish 9th overall

However Anna once again dominated the final to claim victory from Jane Gerisch of Germany and Ukraine's Lubov Shulika, with perhaps suprisingly French duo Virginie Cueff and Sandie Clair down in 5th and 6th respectively

Lizzie Armitstead

There was more success for the British women, with Lizzie Armitstead and Katie Curtis working perfectly together to claim the Gold medal for Lizzie in the Scratch race

British pair Katie Colclough and Alex Greenfield again performed well in the Junior Scratch with Greenfield finishing strongly in 5th place

In the Junior Men's Keirin Chris Lyte and Dave Daniell both rode well and ended up in the medals, with Lyte taking the silver behind Italian Andrea Guardini with Daniell in 3rd

Things were perfectly set up for a British one-two as Chris and Dave approached the line in the lead, however a desperate last minute lunge from Guardini gave him the victory

Chris Lyte

In the U23 equivalent both Jason Kenny and Matt Crampton reached the final, with Crampton being extremely unlucky to miss out on the Gold medal by the narrowist of margins to Kevin Sireau of France, with Gregory Bauge back in 3rd

The Madison was as usual chaotic with mulitple crashes throughout the duration of the race. Britain like many of the nations fielded two teams, A - Kennaugh and Bellis and B - Mark McNally and Luke Rowe

Both teams rode well, with Bellis and Kennaugh extremely unlucky to both need bike changes, which ment they finished a lap down in 11th place, whereas Rowe and McNally came home in 7th
