Jess Varnish was crowned Herefordshire and Worcestershire Junior Sports
Personalty Of The Year Award on Wednesday at the Abbey Hotel Malvern on
Wednesday 14th March 2007. All the schools and clubs in the region were asked
for nominations, and for the evening, it was whittled down to just three
applicants.
The Sports Partnership Awards are presented every year in
recognition of achievement and dedication in sport across Herefordshire and
Worcestershire. However, this is the first Awards Evening for the new Sports
Partnership and included nominees from Herefordshire as well as the six
Worcestershire Local Authorities.
This led to an even higher standard of competition amongst entries competing
to be a winner for one of eleven award categories including: Outstanding
Contribution of the Year, Coach of the Year, Junior Male and Junior Female
Sports Personality of the year.
