Already a World Record Holder at Sea Level, Chris wants the definitive World Record

Not happy with his Commonwealth, World, Olympic and National Championship victories at the event, Scotland's Chris Hoy is now aiming to cement his status as Kilo King

In May next year Hoy will attempt to fill the only gap on his Kilo CV when he travels to La Paz, Bolivia to try and break Arnaud Tournant's World Record

"All I know is that if I'm going to break it anywhere then that's the place to do it," said Hoy.

Chris already holds the "Sea-Level" World Record, of 1m 00.711s which he set during his winning ride at the Athens Olympics in 2004. However Tournant's record of 58.875s at Altitude has stood since 2001

Chris commented: "Arnaud was doing 1.01sec at sea level beforehand, which I can do as well"

"At this stage we're just trying to get the funding in place. So all I can do really is try and get myself in the same shape or better than I was in Athens and step up there and just give it everything. I'm just trying to let my management team sort it out and I'll focus on the training part."

Whatever the outcome, you can be sure Chris will give it his all, and if his training goes to plan, I for one am not betting against him setting a new World Record.
