2008 Beijing Olympic Games On Friday August the 15th the biggest sporting festival in the world hits the Track in Beijing. Laoshan Velodrome in the Shijingshan District of Beijing shall host five days of racing where the best riders from the last four years will do battle for the most coveted title in Sport, Olympic Champion Hat-Trick of Golds for Hoy 19th August 2008: Today was the day that saw Chris Hoy become a Legend, not only in the world of Track Cycling but in the eyes of the general public, Hoy claimed his third Gold medal of the Olympic Games with victory in the Sprint over team-mate Jason Kenny more........ Pendleton Conquers Her Olympic Nemesis 19th August 2008: Four years ago in Athens, Victoria Pendleton hit rock bottom in the Olympics when she performed way below expectation to go home at the 1/8 Final stage, today in Beijing she rounded off a dominant performance with victory over Anna Meares in the Sprint final to become Olympic Champion more........ Glory for Argentinian's Curuchet/Perez 19th August 2008: There was a shock in the Men's Olympic Madison as Argentinian's Juan Esteban Curuchet and Walter Fernando Perez took victory from Spanish legend Joan Llaneras and Toni Tauler World Champions Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish put in a below par performance to trail in ninth after missing the break by the three medal winning teams that saw them lap the field and never look like losing more........ Gold for Romero in Pursuit 17th August 2008: Rebecca Romero has become the greatest Woman athlete in Olympic history after following up her Silver medal in the Quad Skulls Rowing at the Athens Olympics with Gold in the 3km Individual Pursuit today in Beijing more........ Hoy and Edgar Get Keirin One-Two 16th August 2008: Britain's Chris Hoy and Ross Edgar have claimed the Gold and Silver Medals respectively in the Men's Keirin in Laoshan Velodrome at the Beijing Olympic Games. Heat One saw Hoy easily beat German Carsten Bergemann, Toshiaki Fushimi of Japan and French powerhouse Gregory Bauge, whereas Edgar, who was fifth in the Athens Olympic Keirin, beat Roberto Chiappa of Italy and Malaysian more........ Gold for Wiggins in Pursuit 16th August 2008: In the Men's 4km Individual Pursuit it was all about defending champion Bradley Wiggins, who easily set a new Olympic record in his qualification ride, with a time of 4m 15.031s easily three seconds faster than second fastest qualifer Hayden Roulston of New Zealand who recorded a time of 4m 18.990s more........
