Portsmouth Cycle Track LeagueThe Portsmouth Cycle Track League 2008 season has started well with increased numbers in the multi category Ray Martin 150 Distance League which finishes this week. The increased field sizes saw the Sponsored prize fund from local businesses, Ray Martin & Southsea MOT Test Centre, be increased to the top ten in the points league from the top six. From next week, Wednesday 30th April 2008, the programme changes from the multi category event to the three events with the Youth events at 6-15, 3 / 4’s at 6-45, and the E/1/2/3’s at 7-30. The Portsmouth Cycle Track League are also pleased to welcome DHCyclesport as the new sponsor of this League and the Track League hope that this season will be as successful as the 2007 series. The league format is points per evening and then the best 12 from 15 will count to the overall League for both categories the Youth’s will have prizes on the night. This league is scheduled to run from Wednesday 30 April until Wednesday 9 August, but may be shortened as and when the redevelopment works to the Mountbatten Centre move on, when the new 50m swimming centre is completed at the front of the Centre’s site.
