The Americans are Coming...

Revolution
The Americans will be present at Revolution 17

It will be the first time we will have had any American riders at Revolution and with the developments in US cycling over recent years they now have a formidable squad. The US coaches had heard good things about Revolution and approached us wanting to bring a squad over knowing that Revolution would provide the best competitive arena to give the riders a crucial competitive challenge.

Revolution will also come only a week after the US National Track Championships so the riders will all have form so we can expect some intense racing.

Riders confirmed include sprinter Michael Blatchford, Colby Pearce, Mike Friedman and female rider Christen King.

Blatchford is one rider who is well known especially with Jamie Staff. The two riders clashed at the LA world cup in 2006 where Staff was disqulaified following an altercation where he through his helmet at the American so we can expect a bit of a grudge match with these two.

Colby Pearce is another well known rider with an impressive palmares who specialises in the Points Race having won the the UCI World Cup overall in 2002 and medalling frequently at World Cup events.

Friedman is also a strong endurance rider who also races on the road for the ever present Slipstream team. Interestingly, this is also the team Backstedt will be riding for next season.

Tickets for Revolution on October 20th are on sale at www.cyclingrevolution.com or by calling 07005 942 579 or 0161 223 2244.
