Brilliant Blyth outclasses the Rest
The Unbeatable Anna Blyth
Anna Blyth delighted the record breaking crowd at Revolution 14 when
she won the Women's Sprint Omnium in emphatic style.
Blyth recorded a new British Junior Record of 11.590 seconds to easily
outclass second placed Sandie Clair of France who recorded 12.229
seconds.
In the
Match Sprints Anna was paired against German Charleen Delev and Elise
Van Hage of Holland.
Blyth led from the front and easily made it through
to the second round, where she produced a superb sprint to enable
her to cross the line with her arms in the air whilst Anouk Ligthart
and Hannah Welte were left trailing behind.
In the most
mouth-watering clash of
the night; round three of the Sprint
Omnium saw Blyth face her fellow Brit Lucy Ayres
and France's Sandie Clair.
However, yet again Anna
had no problem in sprinting to victory and consequently claimed
the Omnium in style.
Junior World Team Sprint Champion Chris Lyte
In the Men's Sprint events triple Junior
World Champion Jason Kenny beat David Daniell in the
Sprint.
Chris Lyte beat
Brook Cycles' Steve Hill in the Keirin, but they were
both beaten by Ghislain Boiron of France in the Mile
Dash.
In the DHL Future Stars events, South West's Ben Plain
and Toby Meadows, and Andy Fenn of the South East claimed victory in
some excellent Boy's races.
Meanwhile in the Girl's events series leader Alex
Greenfield claimed the Devil and was only just beaten by Welwyn's
Laura Trott in the 5km Scratch.
In a gripping Girl's Points race CC Giro rider
and Brooks Cycles Track League's Women's Champion Helen Clayton
proved she is clearly one to watch for the future
with a tactical race that saw her clinch the victory with
two points in the final sprint.
The Isle of Man's Junior World Champion Peter Kennaugh
The night also
saw some extremely impressive riding from Junior World Scratch Champion Peter
Kennaugh in the endurance events, which saw him claim
victory in the Royles Point Race having taken
a lap.
SiS rider Adam Blythe and Ireland's Dave
O'Loughlin also deserve a mention after recording impressive
victories in the Plowman Craven 15km Scratch and SiS Four Station
Event respectively.
