A good turn out for this weeks meeting after the disappointment of last weeks rained off meeting. Bryan Taylor used his strong finish to take all 4 senior events showing series leader Lewis Atkins a clean back wheel. John McClelland recovering from a bad crash at Herne Hill two weeks ago picked up two hard won third places.

Brian Evans won the opening  Senior B 10 lap scratch plus the Devil while Welwyn Wheelers youth rider Dan Snow timed his finish perfectly to take the Senior 10 lap AB Block handicap with the senior A group riders never getting on terms with the B group who sensible set a hard pace throughout the race.

The 50 riders in the closing 10 mile set a fast pace throughout the 35 laps and all attempts to open up breakaway attacks were quickly chased down leaving the sprinters on hand to take the leading places – Bryan Taylor taking a comfortable win.

The youth A and B groups were combined due to lack of numbers – Dan Smith in his first race of the season taking the spoils. The Youth C events were all hotly contested needing the photo finish camera to sort out the places in blanket finishes to the handicap events. Chloe Evans took the final 4 lap combined handicap with a well timed finish while Harvey Newman picked up two victories in the shorter distance races.
