Winter Track Series Starts in Perth

Our winter season started on 4th April, in conjunction with The Tour de
Perth riders registration night, this event was held over Saturday and
Sunday, with the Saturday races being held in pouring rain, about 65mm (2
5ins in the old money), no wonder I ride the track.

Friday night's track racing was supported by a small field of riders,
despite this the racing was really top class and was enjoyed by both the
spectators and officials. Young Duane Johansen showed the younger A Graders
who was boss rider for the night, the other rider that showed his class was
vet Bill Darby with 2 very good wins.

Just to let you know that this winter season runs till 26th September with 6
race nights only which gives both the rders and officials a rest.
