Pendleton & Reade in Team Sprint Final

Vicki is aiming to add to her 2005 Victory in the Sprint

Victoria Pendleton and Shanaze Reade having qualified fastest in the Women's Team Sprint and therefore with go into tonights final against the Netherlands duo of Yvonne Hijgenaar and Willy Kanis as favourites

The British pair set a blistering time of 33.630s to easily qualify fastest ahead of Hijgenaar and Kanis' 34.071s

The ride off for the Bronze Medal will, as expected, feature the Australian team of Anna Meares and Kristine Bayley, and the French pair of Sandie Clair and Virginie Cueff

In the opening two events of the Men's Omnium, Britain's Jonny Bellis, who is making his debut at the World Championships, produced a strong ride in the 200m TT to record a time of 11.213s to finish seventh

Established sprinters Michael D'Almedia (France) and Ben Kersten (Australia) topped the standings with times of 10.278s and 10.480s respectively

The next round of the Omnium was the 5km Scratch which saw Bellis finish 16th whilst Walter Perez of Argentina took the victory

In the 3km Pursuit, Bellis produced an outstanding ride to finish third, less than a second behind the winner Jesse Sergent of New Zealand

In what must be considered Jonny's strongest event he recorded a time of 3m 22.863s to Sergent's 3m 21.875s

All this means that Bellis is 7th overall which 26 points behind Alois Kankovsky (8), Perez (16) and Charles Bradley Huff of the USA (21) with two events remaining

Britain's Bradley Wiggins battered the opposition in the Men's Individual Pursuit Qualification when he posted a fantastic time of 4m 15.976s to finish top five seconds ahead of nearest rival Robert Bartko of Germany who recorded a time of 4m 20.487s

Wiggins and Bartko will now ride off for Gold in tonights final, whereas Spain's Sergi Escobar Roure and Antonio Tauler Llull will ride off for Bronze

Britain's Rob Hayles finished seventh with a time of 4m 25.669s

Still to come are the Men's Omnium (Pursuit, Kilo and Points) and the finals of the Men's Pursuit and Men and Women's Team Sprint

The World Championships take place in Palma de Mallorca from 29 March to 1 April.
