For the first time Britain shall have more than one Sprint rider in the women's team, with Junior Keirin World Champion Anna Blyth and
Junior BMX World Champion Shanaze Reade making their senior World Championship debuts
Noticeable absentees are Jason Queally and Mark Cavendish, both past World Champions
Veteran Queally is still suffering from the Chicken-Pox that kept him out of the Manchester World Cup, whereas Cavendish is concentrating on the road season with his new team, T-Mobile
Also making their debuts are young endurance bunch-race specialist Katie
Curtis and rower turned pursuiter Rebecca Romero. Amongst the men, up and coming
endurance rider Jonny Bellis is the only new name.
