Tunstall Wheelers rider Kian Emadi has defended his 2007 Youth Omnium Title with victory in the 2008 final today at
Manchester Velodrome. Emadi posted an extremely impressive time of 1m 06.819s in the Kilo TT,
however Cwmcarn Paragon rider Sam Harrison went 0.4s better to take the first event
Kian then finished fourth in the Scratch race behind Adam Yates, Mark Baxter and Chris Sherrifs, but then pulled it all back in
the Keirin with an easy victory putting him back in contention to defend his title.
The Points Race was a nervous affair for the youngster, who is yet another product of the Newcastle Track
Cycling Association's youth development programme, as he needed to stay in contention with his closest rivals to
take the victory. With the Sportscity riders working strongly together, Simon Yates took the victory from Sam Harrison with Emadi getting enough
points to finish third and take the overall title
In the Girl's U16 event Hannah Barnes of Palmer Park Velo won the Kilo, Scratch and Points race, aswell as finishing
second in the Keirin to take the victory ahead of Bicester Millenium CC's Harriet Owen and Ruby Miller
The U14 Events saw Jacob Ragan of Eastlands Velo and Lucy Garner of Leicestershire RC emerge victorious with the U12 title
going to Charlie Tanfield of Cleveland Wheelers
